Child Support? 3/23/16
So So many men and women in our country pay child support. But is child support really there to support children in all cases. My mom has two children, my brother and I. Both of our fathers have to pay child support. My father and mother worked out an agreement not through the court systems and all is well the money gets paid and can be part of the monthly income to help with any expenses involving me. My brothers father, however, has not paid child support in 7 years. He does not maintain a job and is so far behind in payments he will still owe money by the time my brother ,who , is 16 reaches his early adult life. Every time he gets a job he leaves because to him the money starts coming out and having a job is not worth losing a majority of the paycheck. IN his situation he only does this to himself by not maintaining a job, false claims to try and get unemployment money. He is trying to cheat the system and doing an awful job but is still not paying. My step-dad however, who was in the Marines and has been working jobs since he was 16 is now being taken for all he has by the state of Florida. He has a well paying job and because of that the child support system is allowed it take more money from him 65% to be exact. He has one daughter who lives in Florida with her mom. who lives with her mom. His ex-wife has no bills to pay save for a few groceries and health related bills. My step-dad is essentially giving her a shopping spree each month with the now 819 dollars he is sending her. The worst thing is to spend an honest mans dollar dishonestly.
Many people don't understand how complicated divorce can be especially when children are involved.
